However, the Saltire Foundation is currently running two specialised recruitment cycles for penultimate year undergraduates 1) for informatics and computing science students and 2) for students with a connection to Orkney.  Please click on 'apply now' to find out more about these opportunities.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

To be eligible to apply for the Scholar Programme you must:

  • Be a penultimate year student studying full-time at a Scottish university (in third year of a four year degree or fourth year of a five year degree)
  • Not have had a previous international business experience
  • Be passionate about representing Scotland and improving Scotland's business prospects

Application Process

 

Stage 1: The first stage is to complete an Application Form and CV (max two pages).  You can being working on your Scholar Application Form 2013 now by following the link to the word version of the form.

* NB At  this stage your CV is used for reference only and is not a weighted part of the application but it will be sent to host companies if you are successful in the initial round *

Stage 2: Submit your application form online.  You can make changes to your application form by logging into your account online before 11am on 22 November. Applications are now closed for 2013 but there may be some specialist recruitment cycles in the new year.  Announcements about these cycles will be made on our website and social media.

Stage 3: Selected candidates will be asked to a speed interview on 3/4/5 December. All applicants must be available on all days.

Stage 4: Students who progress past the speed interviews will be sent project descriptions of available internships.  They will have the option to submit a cover letter for 2-3 internships.  Saltire Foundation staff will inform the student which internship they have been put forward for. There will be 2 rounds of project descriptions released to students, the first in January and the second in March.

Stage 5: The fourth stage is a telephone interview with the host company.  On average 3 students are put forward to interview for each internship at this stage.  The host company will inform the Saltire Foundation of its decision and the Saltire Foundation will notify the candidates of their status.
