Charlie Grant is an entrepreneurially-minded business leader who possesses over 12 years experience in successfully leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams across a wide spectrum of contexts. Upon graduating from the University of Edinburgh (BEng (Hons) Civil and Environmental Engineering, 1999) he commissioned into the British Army where he has enjoyed a truly rewarding and diverse career; from safely leading his soldiers on combat missions in Iraq (earning a commendation for leadership and bravery), to being operationally responsible for the management of over 350 personnel and over £110m of aviation equipment. Moreover, Charlie's military service has provided him with a genuinely international perspective and understanding of risk; having worked in Germany, Canada and the UK, as well as deployments to the Balkans, Middle East, and Central Asia.
Charlie has always sought to challenge and develop himself, which has seen him qualify as an Army helicopter pilot, gain an OU MBA, as well as achieving Chartered Manager status. More recently, upon leaving the Forces, he was selected for the Saltire Fellowship which saw him travel to the US to study at Babson College (Ranked #1 Business School for Entrepreneurship) and complete a placement with Wood Group Americas; advising on their strategic move into US Shale Oil market. Now returned to Scotland, he intends to combine his military skills and experience, with those gained on the Saltire Fellowship, in order to contribute to the success of a growing Scottish business with global aspirations. Away from work Charlie is an enthusiastic, if less than graceful, practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and tries to play the guitar.
